According to different process equipment, pneumatic or electric actuators can be selected to form pneumatic ball valves and electric ball valves, respectively. The gate of the wedge knife type gate valve can be formed as a whole, called a rigid gate; It can also be made into a gate that can produce slight deformation to improve its processability and compensate for the deviation in the angle of the sealing surface during processing. This gate is called an elastic gate knife type gate valve. When closing, the sealing surface can only rely on medium pressure to seal, that is, rely on medium pressure to press the sealing surface of the gate towards the valve seat on the other side to ensure the sealing surface is sealed, which is self sealing. Most knife type gate valves use forced sealing, that is, when the valve is closed, external forces must be used to forcibly press the gate plate against the valve seat to ensure the tightness of the sealing surface. This type of valve should generally be installed horizontally in the pipeline.
