Butterfly valves are suitable for flow regulation. Due to the relatively large pressure loss of butterfly valves in the pipeline, consideration should also be given to the robustness of the butterfly plate under the pressure of the pipeline medium when it is closed. Generally, in throttling, regulatory control, and mud media, short structure lengths and fast opening and closing speeds (1/4 revolution) are required. Butterfly valves are recommended for low pressure shutoff (low differential pressure).
